Mint Stripe Lane Raglan // Sewing For Women

Thursday, April 28, 2016

Hi friends!

Popping in again to show you another Lane Raglan I made recently. This was another one of the coordinating pieces for Aiden's big birthday bash. Yep. Seriously. We all coordinated that day. Crazy mom over here. Lol.

I'm still trying to find the perfect sizing on this pattern for me. I keep using different fabrics each time so that makes it more difficult. Ha! This one is the updated version (which I LOVE, btw). I made it in a straight medium, but because of the drapey-ness of the rayon spandex that I used, I ended up taking it in under the arms and through the bust again. I also didn't shorten this one any, just cut it straight across at the band line and then hemmed rather than adding the band. It's really quite perfect I think.

Hi all!
Today I'm over at the Imagine Gnats blog sharing my stretch denim version of the just released skirt pattern from Colette Patterns.

It's the first of my makes for Selfish Sewing week. If you want to follow along in real time with what I'm up to this week, hop over to Instagram ;)

And don't forget to check out the whole post with all the details on how to modify this pattern to make it in a stretch fabric. (Spoiler alert: It's super easy!)

Eleena Dress for Easter // Sewing For Girls

This year's Easter dress was brought to Miss O by, the Eleena Dress and THIS gorgeous fabric that I was ever so fortunate enough to win in a giveaway from Brooklyn Pattern Company!

I couldn't believe my luck, especially since I just on a whim decided to enter because I saw Erin's dress and thought it was gorgeous. I wasn't completely sure what I would do if I won, but as soon as I opened the package I new it was destined to be an Easter dress for Olivia.

I paired it with a chambray from Joann Fabrics. It is from the Famous Maker line. It's a really nice weight and great to work with and I'm a huge fan of the color. I bought the chambray with intentions of making coordinating shorts for the boys, but this was all dreamed up the week of Easter. Oops. So instead it became the inside of the pleat and a bow that I made as an accent for the dress. It is pretty perfect, I think! The boys will be getting those shorts, yet. And they will all go to church coordinating someday, heh! :)
