Handmade Summer Series Part 6: Appliqued Beach Cover-Ups (FREE templates!)
Thursday, April 25, 2013
I was looking for some cute cover-ups for my kiddos to wear to the beach and couldn't find anything that I thought was "cute" and also within my price range. So I decided to make them some. Of course.
Handmade Summer Series Part 5: A Toddler Romper
Tuesday, April 23, 2013
I made this romper out of an old shirt that unfortunately didn't fit anymore... I would say this was a pretty positive way to transform it! It fits her perfectly and I think she's going to get a full summers use out of it! I made it using my simple shorts pattern (posting next week) and attached the top. Seriously so simple... who knew a romper was so easy to make? If there is anyone out there in blog land who would like a tutorial I would love to post one... so just leave a comment letting me know! :)
Handmade Summer Series Part Four: Brother/Sister Spring Clothing Set
Thursday, April 18, 2013
I hope you're getting some SIMPLE ideas on how to create a handmade summer wardrobe for your own kiddos from this series! It CAN be easy and inexpensive :)
I had a chance to make a spring clothing set for a friend's children a while back. I love how it all turned out!
For the boy set I used the Made tutorial for Kid Shorts. I absolutely love that pattern! I've made several pairs of these shorts and they have always turned out great. And in a cute gray seersucker it makes the perfect spring pair of shorts for a little boy.

Oatmeal Cream Pies

Browsing on Pinterest when you're hungry or feeling snackish (like at bedtime) can be dangerous... First of all, in the evening, all the junk food looks amazing, which either leads to eating something that I shouldn't or something like plain chocolate chips because there are no cookies in the house, or in the case of when I found these amazing looking cookies...
I ate nothing at all and went to sleep craving soft, chewy, overloaded with filling copycat Little Debbie Cookies. Because nothing else at all would do.
So what's a girl to do?
Why, bake them of course!
Ironing Board Cover Tutorial
Thursday, April 4, 2013
I'm sure you've heard the phrase "Haste makes waste"... Well I'm here to tell you that... Yes, it really does. My ironing board cover has long been in need of an update, but, well, honestly, it sure wasn't real high on my list of to do's because ugly or not it still worked!
Enter in a rush of trying to get projects done before vacation.
Enter in fusible webbing.
Rushing + fusible webbing + wrong side up/down (whatever) = ruining an ironing board cover.
Recipe Book
Tuesday, April 2, 2013
I hosted a bridal shower this past weekend and it was a pretty great success! Not everything went as planned (aka it was cold and wet, not sunny and warm like I had hoped) but the overall party was awesome! For $4 I made a homemade gift for the bride and also had a shower activity built into one.
I was inspired by this recipe book I found on pinterest. I used their template but went about it my own way. I love embroidery and sewing and this project is the perfect combo of both! Plus its super easy!
