A Nursing Cover

I'm at that stage in life where at any given time there are friends around me who are having babies. And I love any excuse to do some baby sewing :)

A nursing cover is not exactly sewing for baby, but it is a perfect, fun, quick project that is very useful and pretty!

Sometime I need to sew something different and have it be a quick satisfying project. This nursing cover was just the thing. And it makes me so happy that a friend who just had a baby will get lots of use out of it!

I had this beautiful Lisette fabric in my stash that was begging for a pretty, drapey life. I think I found just the thing for it! It is super soft and silky feeling. It is the perfect weight for a nursing cover, lightweight so it won't be too warm and has a beautiful drape.

The cover is also nice and wide, so there is plenty of coverage.

There is boning in the top seam allowance so mom can discreetly check on baby when necessary.

The d-rings allow for adjusting the strap to get just the right fit.

There are lots of great tutorials out there on how to make your own nursing cover. This is a good one, and this one from Abby at Sew Much Ado is also great and I will be sharing my OWN tutorial on how to make this one with just 25" of fabric and NO waste, in the next few weeks!

I had just enough fabric stashed to make two of these so this particular nursing cover is available for purchase in my Etsy shop as well!

Thanks for stopping by!
