Remix The Stitch // Ravenna Top
I always start out my posts the same way. "I'm so excited!!" But the truth is... I'm so excited!!!! Today I am excited to be part of this fun tour!

Funny story, one day I hopped over to the Straight Stitch Designs shop and was perusing, thinking... I really need to buy some of these patterns, these look like some great staples to have. Being in the super distracted mommy stage that I'm in, I narrowed it down to 2 patterns and then left my cart, never to return, for at least 4 days. All the while, I was still mulling it in my head, thinking I need to figure out which one I wanted to try first.
Well, a few days later, I got an email out of the blue from Kimberly, asking if I wanted to "Remix the Stitch". Of course I didn't have to think twice!!
So here's my remix. The Ravenna top.
I really liked the silhouette of this pattern, so my remixes might not seem that vastly different. Although there are several!
The pattern is written for wovens, but I used a lightweight knit, because I wanted something very flowy for this super hot summer we've been having. Kimberly actually has a tutorial on her blog on how to make this pattern in knit. She says to go down one size, but with this lightweight fabric I ended up having to go down two sizes. The fit is perfect!
I also used the straight hem on the front and the "low" part of the hi-low for the back.
For the sleeves I went with the 3/4 length option and just hemmed, leaving off the cuff. I added a patch pocket to the chest, simply because I felt the front was a little plain in this gray and this floral somehow ended up next to it at some point in my stash and I thought it was a great pairing.
Taking pictures of yourself is just so awkward! *Squinty emoji*
Another change I made was to shorten the shirt by 4 inches. Yes, I am that short! But I also don't feel that the tunic length is all that flattering on my body type.
And obviously I left the zipper off of the back. I LOVE the zipper detail, but was afraid it would pull and stand all wonky with this light fabric. I still absolutely love the back. It's my favorite part of the whole shirt!
Oh look! I had a photo shoot crasher.
"Wook, Mom, I found you a wewwy pwetty weave!"
Love this girly of mine.
So there you have my remix. I love this pattern and can't wait to try some different versions! But first I want to try the Greenwood and the Laurelhurst and maybe the Ballard... So many good patterns to choose from! I can't wait to see all the other tour participants and their remixes too!
On top of the fun tour, Kimberly is offering a HUGE sale in her shop. 50%, guys FIFTY PERCENT off of all her pdf & paper patterns!! Also 40% off her Stitch Kits. No coupon needed, just head over there from now through Sept 20th for the savings!
