Toaster Sweater #2 // Imagine Gnats Contributor Post

Monday, December 19, 2016

Hi everyone!!

I'm over at Imagine Gnats today, talking all about my Toaster Sweater #2 that I sewed up in this amazing soft and cozy ponte de roma knit from her shop.

Head on over and read the post here. Just a hint, it sewed up like an absolute dream! I'm so happy about my cozy new sweater, definitely planning to sew up a few more of these for this winter. My wardrobe is strangely lacking in the cozy sweater department!

Panama Tee & Dress Pattern // Sewing For Women // Handmade Frenzy

Hey everyone!! Today I'm celebrating the release of the amazing Alina of Alina Sewing + Design Co's second pattern! It is the Panama Tee & Dress Pattern, which includes 2 dress length options, a tee and 3 sleeve lengths.

And by celebrating I mean, jumping for joy that this pattern is in existence. Both the Chi-Town Chinos and now this dress pattern, are exactly what I wear all day, every day. Having patterns that match what I already wear anyway, is basically just the best thing ever. Not just having the patterns, but having well drafted, high quality and simple to use patterns is everything.

I was thrilled to be able to test this pattern and made 2 dresses during the process.

TIP Top Dress & Tunic Pattern // Handmade Frenzy // Sewing For Girls

Happy Monday, all! I'm excited to be a part of the Petit A Petit Block Party today! All through the month of November, 31 fabulous bloggers from all over the world are showing off the patterns available in the Petit A Petit Pattern Shop. There is also a giveaway and coupon code good for the whole month. Scroll through to the end for the info!

I chose to sew up the TIP Top Dress & Tunic pattern for my stop around the block. It's one of those patterns that I have admired since the moment it was released. I'm so happy I finally got the chance/reason to sew it up!

My daughter's chest measurements fell between the 3/4 & 5/6 sizes. Since the pattern is meant to be quite loose fitting I decided to go with the 3/4 size in width and lengthened to 5/6. It's perfection!!

Canyon Cardigan & 1 yard knit Infinity Scarf // Sewing For Women

Happy Tuesday friends!

I can't believe it's almost November. It just hit me today. I'm so not ready for the holidays! But at least I'm working on getting my wardrobe stylishly ready for it. Haha ;)

So if you've been around the knit fabric world lately, you probably have heard things here and there about brushed poly. It's the latest thing, and I had to find out why, for myself!

Union St. Sweatshirt // Sewing For Women

Friday, October 14, 2016

I am subconsciously on a Union St. kick! The last 2 posts on the blog will prove that :)

I made these Chi-Town Chinos (which you can read all about HERE!) and decided they definitely needed a new shirt to pair with them. It is finally feeling like fall around here and I get to wear my fave combo of shorts and sweatshirts again!

I basically wanted an oversized super cozy long sleeved tee. So I grabbed these 2 fabrics from my stash and went to work.

Roscoe Blouse & Union St. Tee // Sewing For Women

You can catch Part 1 of this post here!

Union St. Tee // Sewing For Women

Next in Part 2 of today's post, is the tried and true Union St. Tee. I've made quite a few of these, and come to think of it, they've all been v-necks. I do love me a good v-neck, and folks, Adrianna's instructions will make anybody a successful v-neck seamstress! I sewed this shirt first and really didn't have all that many issues with it. I was a bit nervous about sewing a perfectly lined up V in this rayon spandex, and I did end up using my seam ripper a few times, but I coaxed it into submission in the end and am super happy with the result!
