Color-Block Classic Sweatshirt - KCW - Day 2

Day 2's sewing consisted of this Classic Sweatshirt sewn up, yet again, for the little man. I completely love how this turned out. And then when it was snowing so beautifully, and we only get this about once a year, I had to document it with a photo shoot outside! He was a bit chilled :)

But managed to squeak out a forced smile for me...

I had some fun with this and did some color-blocking. All the fabrics, with the exception of the ribbing are from thrifted shirts. I only had a small scrap and the sleeves left from the gray shirt, and a scrap left of the white t-shirt, but I managed to do some fun color blocking with it.

This was my first time sewing this pattern and it was a pleasant experience. The pattern is very straight forward, the pieces fit together well. No hiccups and since everything is finished with a band, super fast! I really enjoyed it!

Shoot's over Mom!! I'm FREEZING!

See you soon!!
So cute! He is adorable, and such a little trooper :) I like the looks of this pattern....add it to the ever-growing 'patterns to own' list!
ReplyDeleteThank you Monica! He really was, we were only out there for like 2 minutes and he froze :) But went inside right after and bundled up so he could go play in it. This pattern really is great! I used lighter weight fabrics because, even though the pictures don't agree, he usually doesn't need really heavy clothing. The fit is fantastic even with the lighter fabrics, I want to try it with real sweatshirt fleece. They had this pattern as Thrifty Thursday the other week for $4 and I snatched it up then...
DeleteI love this! The fabric colors are great. He is adorable and a little trooper for going out and taking pictures!

Thank you Samantha!! He was so excited to go out in the snow until he realized how cold it was, lol!
DeleteHeidi!!!! I can't stop staring at this shirt! I LOVE the colour combination... I'll scour my sewing stash tonight to see if I can come up with something similar in terms of colours and make something for one of the girls. It looks fantastic on your little guy!
